DarthMaul created the topic: Introduction and question

Hello fellow Oscar Lovers! I'm very glad to have found this website.

I have a 75 gallon tank with two tiger oscars, about 4 inches in length. Two days ago I noticed one was not interested in eating, and in general lethargic with labored breathing. One day ago I noticed the same symptoms with the tiger oscar. Today, both now have what I would describe as lumpy white fecal output, not something I have come across before. From what I've read this is most likely a parasite infection. Any ideas on best method of treatment?

Best,
DarthMaul

Hello and welcome to OFL. First thing to always address is water quality. You need a consistent zero on ammonia and nitrite and a nitrate reading of less than 20ppm. Seachem Paraguard is a good med. Epsom salt treated food will also do a good job. I will caution you however, that the tank is really suitable for one only Oscar. Your fish are still small, but not for long. Re water quality... meds are rendered useless in iffy water. It must be VERY clean.

I may not be the Boss, but I'm ALWAYS right!
