You'll have to get a new piece of glass and just totally tear it apart and reseal it. I have a post about the 125 I'm doing but only have the frame together. But ill be happy to share any info I have if u have any questions.

Cool, I've been doing some research and I think I can handle it. Can I put a acrylic piece in?

If its a glass tank I doubt it.I think Your best bet would be to call a local glass company and they will cut it to fit. Luckily my glass isn't broke just seams comming apart so I'm just going to clean and reset and seal the glass.

I was going to say the same thing ken did but I think there is a type (might not be a silicone more of a glue) that adheres to both but i am not even sure where I read or was told that ... I would go with glass also tho def put your work pics up on here tho will be a cool build

You could always try a product called Lexel. It is commonly used when people have an acrylic base on their shower or in their kitchen/bathroom, since most silicone's have a harder time keeping intact with it.. It's really a great product..I don't really know if having all glass and then one acrylic glass would really make a difference in your tank, but you could always try Lexel because it works great with acrylic. Most hardware stores sell Lexel. Here is their homepage and you type in your zip code and it will give you a store locater..

I know quite a bit about caulking's cause I work at Lowe's :P

Wish the best of luck to your new project :)

cool thanks, the only reason I asked was because I can get a piece of aquarium safe acrilic that is black, and I would really prefer a black back ground for my Gold Saum tank.

yea I'm pretty nervous about starting a project like this, it will be my first. But I have experience with fiberglass, sheet metal, and many other Composite building materials so I think I can handle it. I think I'm going to do like a 72 hr water test once it's done just to be sure though.
