O yeah It is pretty nasty  !! I put some in my 10 gal and it filtered it rather quickly lol

and I agree matt I will get it to work by seeding it then ... I will rip all my media from that filter since I will be taking it down for a little when I set up the new big tank

Well you don't want to take all of it, then you'd lose the cycle on that filter. Just take a little, that's all you really need. Keep that filter running so you have a back up.

I run a HoB that fits on all my tanks as an aww hell something bad happened filter.

yeah that makes sense should always have one filter that will keep me rolling in case something goes wrong maybe just the one of the filters out and replace it with a bran new one...

So I could not find a pond store around here but little did I know ponds are called "Water Gardens" a lot of times  soooo OOOOOO........

called some of them and guess who found a big piece of filter 24x24!!!! when I cut it up it will fit real nice and be really thick and EZ to take out of the sump :) I think I will cut out 3 filters of it two that above 8 inches (my water line) and one that is about a inch under 8

Ik right! I think it went with how big the holes and suff are in it ... they had a really fine white one but I didn't want it to get cloged to easy and stop water flow.. still will probably get some polyfiber floss for the end to Polish the water a tad ...

the water can be polished in the beginning or the end. it really doesn't matter.

Back front the dead believe me this thread will not die until I'm done !!! my word lol !!

(ps I didn't know that rock I thought it had to be the end that will give me some more options )

So here is the update and I am no wood worker by any means just a motivated fish keeper with some power tools LMAO

Here is what the stand looked like b4 it was extremely short under 20 inches and also the way it was made I could not fit my sump inside of it

So I am about 80% done with the stand I am still going to put a few more legs of 4x4 where just the 2x4's are (the 2x4 are not load bearing only the 4x4 the 2x4 only keep the 4x4 secure to the stand an from swinging out). Also I am going to put another runner along the bottom of the other side of the tank.. When it is done I will be putting pads on the bottom of the sump so that it will slide out of one side of the bottom of the stand so I can easily access it..

also the stand now stand 29 inches tall an I can get inside of it very easily!!

Also when I am done and the tank has been running for over 3 weeks I am going to insulate and put an outside textured frame on it so that it is all pretty but I do not want to do that till I am sure that it is running perfect!!

I will get a shot of the sump on the inside when I finish up some more prep work on the inside

Excellent job.

Are you going to put plywood on top and the bottom?

no just the top .. but if I cant attach slide pads to the floor then yes I would have to use plywood there to thats a good idea I just know I want it to slide it out of the left side

I was just thinking that having a flat bottom using plywood makes it easier to slide the stand around.
