Great stuff! I was at work when you posted the pics, and could not pull them up on my antique phone, but it was worth the wait. Idk if I want any from this batch, since I have a feeling that many others of different species may be soon to follow, but the parents are awesome specimens!
Jags are becoming kinda common Rob, you want something really cool check out Tiger Mota, I think Tom has some orange Mota, gorgeous fish.

I wish i could take Tom up on the offer, but truth be told I just don't have anywhere to put them. I already have one, so the only reason to get any more would be for breeding and that would require a grow out space for several fish. I hope that a lot of people on the site take advantage of Toms offer, it would be really cool to see the offspring grow out.

You don't need to increase the dosage of Prime.

Do you leave pieces of the plants in the tank? That will rot and turn into ammonia

Welcome to OFL Norman. Chauncey is a beauty big fella for sure. Perhaps another challenger for the OFL heavyweight title. Hear that Jason.. we're lining up to de-throne Diablo! Butch is now a tick over 12ins and wont be 2 until October.

tie it to a piece of light diffuser egg crate using a fishing line. They put slate or large rocks on top of the egg crate.

  • Ruthyy created a new topic ' Oscar breeders UK' in the forum.
    Hi all,

So I'll hopefully have my tank up and running and fully cycled by September, wondering if there's any oscar breeders in the UK that could have some juveniles at around this time? Preferably a nicely patterned and very cute lutino oscar.
If it's possible for a breeder to send the fish to Edinburgh then that'd be wonderful, otherwise it may be possible I could pick it up but that'd only be if it is very close.

    Thanks :)

  • I was buying some scallops down at Brixham fish market on Wednesday and I asked the guy whether he could get his hands on some whelk shelves. If there is a market for them, probably on eBay or here, then this could be an ongoing little sideline. Not sure how much I would charge for them, maybe a £ for five, I really don't know. Obviously Tanganyika snails are probably not that easy to get hold of, however whelk shells closely resemble some of the snails that live there so your tank would look authentic. I know a lot of people use escargot shells, but these are land dwelling snails.

I'll let you know how I get on as I expect some of you may be interested
