Well, I decided to experiment with the wasted space in the corner. It's a potted sword and some long grass like plant from my planted tank. There is a small light behind it and a cardboard cover rn.

Looks quite nice, good idea to utilise the wasted space. Hopefully the extra light will keep the plant healthy, although these type of plants do fare quite well in lowlight water conditions.

I may not always be right, but I am always the BOSS :-)

Well the idea works, but I need a different plant. I have some anacharis I put in since it will.do better in that small of a space.

Small update. As far as water parameters go it's probably worthless, but I have discovered a supply of snails for my fish. Snails eventually crawl up and out of the overflow and the green terrors know it. The plants themselves are growing thick. I had to add a cage around the overflow to keep it from clogging with plants. It's just not enough to make an impact on the tank size.
